Giel Vleggaar - Sinfonia (2025)

Sinfonia (2025)

The musical landscape of Sinfonia is populated by primitive synthesizers, drum machines, electric guitars, orchestral percussion, and a string orchestra. Because the string orchestra and percussion were recorded in a room, but the electronic elements were mixed into the recording without reverb, an interplay arises between far and near, between digital and live. The one comments on the other, and every now and then there are interventions that seem to come straight out of an 80s game console. Above all, it is a lyrical, stimulating, and driving musical story—except for the middle section, where you might want to put on a winter coat while listening.
